UC Browser of Alibaba announced that it is upgrading its Indian market strategy. UC Browser will launch its in-application Cloud storage service, UC Drive.
UC Drive will link to the browsing scenario in UC Browser as in-app cloud storage and sync different videos, music, pictures and more on all UC mobile devices. It will allow users to save a large number of downloadable content instantly when searching on their mobile devices without taking up bandwidth or power.
In a statement, UCWeb announced that UC Drive is open to all UC users with big cloud storage. This is the first global launch of UC Drive. India is one of the big UC Browser markets and accounts for nearly 50% of its worldwide installs.
With the “Save to Drive” feature, users will be able to save downloaded content. The drive acts as an excellent tool to share data with its’ File Sharing’ option which makes communicating between users easier. In fact, the capacity of syncing every folder on your phone with cloud-based storage would allow it a convincing offering from UC stable with numerous people exposure and the security of digital high-stake records.
“In a smartphone first market like India almost all digital practices shift towards mobile devices from watching movies, clicking pictures to sharing files,” said Huaiyuan Yang, Vice President, UCWeb Global Market. In this case, customers are left to fight over cloud storage and synchronization solutions. For UC Drive, making use of the least number of mobile devices will enjoy an unfettered browsing experience, meaning that consumers never run out of the room. The new UC Drive is a phase in our effort to provide our billion+ customers with better mobile Internet services and expand in the digital market.
