Once again pebble has brought to us a Classic design of wearable computing with a ton of new features coping with the tech trend of 2015. Yet it still does maintain its retro bold look with its launch of the new steel series. Dashing matte black and silver editions of the steel series differs it from other android wear watches as this still has the look and feel of a watch.
Pebbles unique design towards its simplicity has been packed with a contrast of support and apps of both the android and apple platforms. Although the watch seems to be outdated in the era of the Samsung gear s and the motto 360, it stills fits in the line for an affordable android/apple wear with more than limited features.
This time pebble has introduced this in a black and white display that stays active all day long hence the battery last for a solid of 7 days. It supports both android and apple platform and all apps featured by them. Its water resistant to upto 165 feet hence it both swim and shower resistant. The flat gorilla glass panel helps reduce glare and is more resistant towards scratches. You can also trigger the backlighting by just shaking your wrist. And one of the best things I like about the watch is that if I get a call or a message or any notification I get a buzz vibration on my wrist rather than a phony ringtone. So this buzzy watch shares an extensive list of apps both from the android and apple ranging from some of the best to the ridiculous.
In the end I would just like to state that in this tech era that we are in, I strongly believe that a smartphone stays at the center of our digital life. And unlike other hi-end and hi-priced android werars, the pebble simply represents a bold gesture in being a second screen of our phone in our wrist.
